Posture and Post Techniques

Rosa Rodriguez

New York, NY

In this workshop, participants learn to assess for inefficient postural patterns through observation, movement, and simple techniques. Non-invasive techniques to work with spinal curvatures, including working with scoliosis, are presented and practiced.

Post techniques focus on releasing areas of tension and integrating the changes that occur in a session. In addition, self care exercises are taught to facilitate the client's ability to maintain the balance achieved in a session, through the neuromuscular re-education of postural habits.

When we work with a person's posture, we need to be aware that we are working with their lifetime experience. Not only are we working with their past and present patterns, but we are working with their potential from that moment forward.
