Chair Ortho-Bionomy with Jim Berns
This is a recording of a SOBI sponsored study group. Please note, no CE credit will be given for this recording.
In this recording, Jim will show you techniques that he developed to do Ortho-Bionomy with someone in an upright position in a chair. He will share how he works with most of the body, including the neck, back, arms, pelvis, and legs.
You can use a regular chair, and you won’t need a massage chair for this practice.
The practical information he will show you can be used in multiple settings, whether at home, a gathering, an office, or just about anywhere!
This recording is especially valuable for practitioners who want to expand their options. Working upright allows you to observe posture, movement, breath, and nervous system responses in relationship to gravity, while practicing Ortho-Bionomy principles in real-world settings.
You’ll gain practical tools to:
- Work effectively without a massage table
- Support client comfort, communication, and safety
- Practice sustainable body mechanics for practitioner self-care
Chair work can also be an inviting way to introduce Ortho-Bionomy to new clients, offering an accessible and portable experience of the work.
After checking out you will receive a link that will give you access to the class recording (with closed captioning available), an audio-only file of the class, and the class handout.
